Community Involvement

She volunteers her time and talents with several community organizations. She is actively involved with the planning and implementation of fundraisers for the Elkhorn Valley Museum and Historical Society. She also uses her skills as a Master Gardener to contribute to beautification projects for the museum grounds and gardens. She is happy to get her hands dirty with planting, landscaping and seasonal grounds work.

She works every year on the Norfolk Area United Way Team Builders team and as a door-to-door volunteer. Norfolk Area United Way provides assistance to agencies in Northeast and North Central Nebraska whose focus is on education, health, and income issues. She wholeheartedly supports their belief that everyone deserves the opportunity for self-sufficiency and a stable living environment.

She takes time to participate in the annual St Jude Radiothon to raise funds and support for St Jude Children's Research Hospital. She has earned the designation as an Ambassador General with the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce, which supports the community and Northeast Nebraska business members. She has been involved with Relay for Life, Lifelong Learning Center Building Project fundraiser, and numerous other charity events.
